ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS
I am a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) specializing in the treatment of depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, women’s mental health, and addiction. I work collaboratively with individuals age 18 and older, incorporating input from families and other mental health and medical providers. My goal is to help you customize a plan that enables you to find lasting change. This plan may involve medication, therapy, or a combination of both.
My style is grounded in the theory of self-determination and I have specific training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. I practice from a trauma-informed approach. My pronouns are she/her.
When considering whether medication may have a role in treatment, I understand the decision can feel daunting. At best, psychiatric medications can be transformative. For many, they allow people to better manage symptoms and experience a better quality of life. Even so, medicines can carry potential side effects. My goal is to provide clear, transparent information about the evidence, trade-offs, and alternatives so that you feel empowered to make informed choices.
I am nationally board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and licensed to practice as a PMHNP in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC. This licensure includes prescriptive authority. I completed a Master’s of Science in Mental Health Psychiatric Nursing at Yale University School of Nursing in 2011.
